Das Ende der Armut – Geht’s in Brasilien?

Published: 19 November 2010

The International Day of Eradication of Poverty on October 17th takes our team of reporters this time to the northeast of Brazil. The project "Family agriculture” by the European Union is helping smallholders in the region organise themselves in cooperatives and improve their sustainable production potential. The first results are already visible. With the expiry of the project next year, the 200 residents of the village Jupatiriba today can be proud of a more regular income, sufficient food outside the harvest season and a better life for future generations that will be able to attend school regularly. Brazil's doing it - the end of poverty.
