Fake medicine is not sexy

“Fake medicine is not a sexy problem for the media, it is not attractive at all.” Dr Mo Ibrahim started with this provocation his speech at the meeting about the access to quality medicine. “Media loves to speak about Tsunami or terrorism. Do you know that the victims for fake medicine are more than the double of the victims for terrorism? You didn’t and this because to speak about it, it’s simply not attractive and not touching at all. That’s why we should work on this problem, trying to raise a major awareness in the world.” Fake medicine are definitely worst than drugs, as the President of Benin Thomas Boni Yayi said, because when you buy drugs at least you know what you are buying. To sell fake medicine is a crime against the human rights and the world has the duty to act.
