Mariusz Florczyk, a twenty one years old student of the Music Academy in Bydgoszcs and his friend Marcin Cichy (28), teacher of economy composed a song about poverty called Together. The internet voters chose their song as the best one, although the jury chose a song Eine Geschichte der Ignoranz from Toni und Mareike. „I think that music connects people,“ Florczyk stresses out the importance of music around the world. He wants to form a group with Marcin and their career will have a nice start – professional recording of their song that was the prize for the winners, besides the diploma and public performance at the EDD.

I fight poverty is one of the three contests that the European Commission launched to raise awareness among young people about poverty and development issues. 167 participants posted their songs on the website of the contest. The other two competitions were „Shoot against Poverty“, a contest for young non-professional photographers and Young Reporters against Poverty for students of journalism, political science and international relations.
