YRAPers’ day three - Solidarity

“Solidarity” the word of the first day of EDD
At least 10 high calibre speakers including Andris Piebalgs have said the word “solidarity”. This is strong word which has an impact on how the journalists perceive those speakers. Solidarity shows teamwork and there has been certainly a lot of teamwork amongst the EU member states and other developing countries. The speeches given by many people were inspiring and attending 5 panel discussion meetings, the atmosphere seemed to be more or less calm apart of difficult questions which were asked by the audience. There were 500 journalists covering the EDD from across the world which should have a significant impact on the media. Many questions were asked by people who live in Sub- Saharan Africa and most issues people raised were also about Sub-Saharan Africa. The global village provided a deeper understanding of what type of organisations exist in the world and that development is vibrant as never before. One issue was that a lot of speakers were not answering questions strict to the point and were refusing a lot of interviews to journalists.
At the end of the day, European Development Days is not finished yet. There is a lot more to see tomorrow!
