Education can fight global poverty

When people think about changing the world they focus on political corruption, climate change and poverty. However, there is only one thing that can move mountains: education. Many years ago, in Burkina Faso (West Africa), home to one of the world´s lowest literacy rates, a chance was given. The European Union, following the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, decided to combat this situation and supply African children with qualified teachers, materials and good schools. They wanted to show that there is no way to attain economic and social development without knowledge. It is never too late to achieve a happier, better and fully democratic society. The foundation stone has been laid. But the road is just beginning.
